VYBE - Vision (FOR) youth becoming empowered

our mission

Empowering Through Connection

VYBE Youth Hub is dedicated to empowering vulnerable youth by providing a safe after-hours haven, fostering cultural connection, and building resilience through mentorship, vocational training, and community collaboration. We ensure youth thrive in a supportive village ecosystem while reducing crime and strengthening bonds to family and society.

why we’re needed

Vulnerable young people face the greatest risks between 5 PM and 9 AM, yet most services shut down during these hours. VYBE aims to fill this gap by providing a safe and supportive space when youth need it most.

Filling the Night Gap

Most youth services operate from 9 AM to 5 PM, leaving a critical 16-hour gap when vulnerable youth are most at risk. VYBE operates from 5 PM to 9 AM specifically to address this service gap.

more than just shelter

Through activities, mentorship, and crisis support, VYBE will not only keep young people off the streets but also help them build resilience, purpose, and stability.

long-term solutions

Beyond providing a safe space at night, VYBE's mission is to help youth re-engage with their families, education, and support networks, creating lasting change and reducing crime and homelessness.

OuR programs

  • Safe Drop Off

A drop-home service ensures youth get home safely after a night at VYBE. It shows care, builds trust with families, and keeps kids off the streets.

  • Meals Program

Sharing a meal provides more than nourishment—it builds connection, routine, and a sense of belonging. For youth, it’s a moment of stability, care, and community.

  • Basketball

Basketball fosters teamwork, leadership, and perseverance. It encourages physical health, discipline, and strong peer relationships—helping youth develop confidence and a positive outlet for energy and stress.

  • Cultural Connection

Many of our Indigenous youth seek meaningful opportunities to reconnect with their cultural heritage through Soul Jam's culturally safe programs.

  • Music

DJing and music production empower youth to express themselves, build technical skills, and gain confidence. Performing fosters creativity, discipline, and a sense of achievement and identity.

  • Therapy

Many of our youth seek a trusted adult to confide in, who listens without judgment, fostering healing.

  • Mentorship

Mentors guide, inspire, and support youth through life’s challenges. They model positive behaviour, build trust, and help young people envision and work toward a better future.

  • Dance

Hip Hop dancing empowers youth through self-expression, creativity, and rhythm. It builds confidence, fitness, and cultural connection while offering a powerful outlet for emotion and identity.

  • Games

Games like ping pong and pool promote focus, coordination, and social connection. They offer safe, engaging ways for youth to build confidence, patience, and friendly competition.

  • Gaming

Online gaming can foster strategic thinking, teamwork, and social connection. When balanced and supervised, it provides a fun, interactive space for youth to build skills and friendships.

  • Active Activites

Games like ping pong and pool promote focus, coordination, and social connection. They offer safe, engaging ways for youth to build confidence, patience, and friendly competition.

  • Boxing
